Children in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are being offered a chance to get protected from serious illness over the Easter holidays.

Vaccines against the likes of measles and meningitis will be available free of charge at walk-in clinics, running from today (7 April) until next Thursday (17 April).

HPV, diphtheria, tetanus and polio, and meningitis and sepsis, are also available at eight venues for eligible children.

The RSV vaccine will also be on offer for those who are at least 28 weeks pregnant, plus the whooping cough jab for those 16 weeks pregnant or more.

Integrated Vaccination Service Programme Lead with NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, Cali Makewell, said: “We want to help parents and carers across the area protect their children from serious illness. That’s why we’re organising a series of walk-in vaccination clinics so that children in eligible age groups can get the vaccines they need, quickly and easily.

“We know life can be busy, so the school holidays are a perfect time for eligible children to get vaccinated. You don’t need to book an appointment; just turn up and give your child the protection they need.”
