The family of a man who died in a crash near Eltisley say they "are a heartbroken family to lose him".

64-year-old Ian Burgess, of Barford Road, Blunham in Bedfordshire, died after the car he was in collided with an HGV and Ford on Monday August 12th.

He died at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge the following morning.

The driver of the HGV, a 53-year-old man from Doncaster, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

In a statement released by Ian's family, they say he was a “loving husband and soul mate to Paula, brilliant dad to Lana, Jack and Rhona and amazing papa to Isla, Autumn, Oscar and May.

“We are a heartbroken broken family to lose him, and our lives won't be as good without him.”

An appeal for dash cam footage and information is ongoing.
