A 24-hour rowathon has helped raise thousands of pounds in memory of a boy from Peterborough who died after battling with a rare generic condition.
Riain Bloomfield passed away in November aged just 2 years old after battling with Hurler Syndrome.
According to the NHS, Hurler’s syndrome is a rare, life threatening disease and occurs when the body fails to produce a particular enzyme.
Riain received a bone marrow transplant from a donor in America but sadly still passed after picking up pneumonia.
Family members have since campaigned to raise awareness of Hurler's syndrome, including organising the rowathon which took place on Saturday.
People rowed and cycled for the event, which also included a bake sale.
The GoFundMe has raised ÂŁ4565 at time of publishing.
