Peterborough 'comes together' for 2024 Great Eastern Run
Runners across the city and further afield took part
A half marathon runner is telling us how the Great Eastern Run in Peterborough is helping people from different walks of life.
Around 19 different charities and other organisations were due to be represented at the event on Sunday, with approximately 5,000 runners taking part.
Harry Jenkins was one of those to finish the 13.1-mile course, as he prepares for the New York Marathon next month.
"(The course) is normally quite flat, so there were a couple of small hills to deal with but other than that, it went better than what I could have asked for," he said.
"You look at the amount of people that do this for charity, mental health, it's good for people to get out and running.
"You can see the number of people in Peterborough that have done it and it shows everyone comes together and supports one another."
This year's course started and finished on Bishop's Road in the city centre, taking in the grounds of Peterborough Cathedral which was added to the 2024 route.
A 5k route for Anna's Hope, which helps children and young people with brain tumours, began earlier on Sunday morning ahead of the half marathon.
Speaking on what message he'd send to people looking to follow in his footsteps, Harry added: "Keep putting one foot in front of the other."
