Teenage drug dealer sentenced after being caught by police in Oxmoor

A teenager drug dealer's been sentenced after being caught by police trying to sell class A drugs in Oxmoor.

Cambridgeshire Police say they spotted Irmantas Gespautas with two known drug users during a patrol near Oxmoor on 9 April.

After chasing Gespautas down, a search revealed he was was carrying nine wraps of crack cocaine and heroin.

He told police that "I found them the drugs and I wanted to sell them."

Gespautas, 18, of no fixed address, was arrested and subsequently charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

He admitted to the offence at Cambridge Crown Court, and was sentenced on 5 June to a year in a Young Offenders Institution.

PC James Sims, from the Huntingdon Neighbourhood Policing Team, said:

"Tackling drug dealing continues to be a priority across the force because of the associated violence, theft and misery it brings to our communities.

"We are working hard to disrupt drug dealing in Huntingdonshire but information from the public can greatly assist with this."
