A decision on whether or not a controversial solar farm can be built on the Cambridgeshire/Suffolk border has been delayed until June.

The government was meant to announce whether the Sunnica Energy Farm will be built this Thursday (11/4).

The proposals drawn up by Sunnica, which cover 2,500 acres, aim to build a site thought to be one of the biggest in Europe.

But an update announced today says the Secretary of State has decided to re-set the statutory deadline for the application to 20th June.

A statement confirming the new deadline for a decision will be made to the House of Commons and House of Lords in accordance with section 107(7) of the Planning Act as soon as possible once Parliament is in session.
