Car parking spaces in St Neots have been removed as work begins on a £15 million pound project to revamp the town centre.

It'll take around a year to complete - and will include a new raised area for public performances in St Neots Market Square.

There's concerns over the impact the works will have on local businesses - but Huntingdonshire District Council says disruption will be kept to a minimum.

Cllr Sam Wakeford, Executive Councillor for Jobs, Economy and Housing at Huntingdonshire District Council, said: "We are excited that the construction phase of the town centre improvements project is now commencing, which is a significant milestone for St Neots, promising a more attractive, versatile and vibrant public space in the historic centre of the town."
