Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision between a lorry and three cars on the M11 near Cambridge in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The collision between a silver Renault Clio, a black Nissan Navara Tekna, a grey Vauxhall Insignia and a lorry, happened at about 4.45am yesterday (26 August) on the M11 northbound between junctions 11 and 12, and impacted the southbound carriageway.

Officers attended and the driver of the Clio, a woman in her 70s, from Cambridge, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with serious injuries where she remains.

The drivers of the other three vehicles suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene.

Officers are appealing for information and dashcam footage from anyone who was travelling along the M11 in either direction at about 4.45am yesterday or just before, who may have witnessed the collision or any of the vehicles in the moments leading up to it.
