Posh prepped for EFL Trophy glory at Wembley
More than 22,000 Peterborough United fans will be in Wembley hoping to watch their club go all the way
Peterborough United are hours away from kick-off in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy final at Wembley.
Just under 23,000 Posh supporters will be filling one half of the stadium, hoping to watch their team lift the same silverware they did ten years ago.
Peterborough United's last Wembley appearance was in the same competition in 2014, beating Chesterfield 3-1 in the final.
This time, Posh face Wycombe Wanderers - a side they haven't beaten in the League this season, drawing once and losing 5-2 to today's opposition earlier this year.
Posh midfielder Hector Kyprianou said: "It's been a really positive week this week. We started it off really well with getting a win at Leyton Orient which set us on the right track ready for this weekend."
"It goes without saying, the boys are so excited and the mood in the camp has been great."
He added: "I've loved every second I've been here. The club's taken me in and I think I've made my biggest strides here. I've improved so much under this gaffer."
"As a team our togetherness is second to none. We're a team of young boys enjoying our football, coming in everyday. We're all friends with each other. Our togetherness is so strong and I hope everyone can see that on the pitch."
"It would mean so much to me if we won. It would be my first piece of silverware for a team, and to do it at Wembley will be the icing on the cake.
"It will be like a dream come true just stepping foot on the pitch, let alone to win a cup there. I'll do whatever it takes on the pitch to get that win."
Adi Mowles, from the Posh Independent Supporter's Association, said: "This trophy is effectively our main way of getting to Wembley, having a good day out, making a few quid."
"We're not one of the bigger clubs. The Premier clubs and the Championship clubs can look at the FA Cup realistically, as a possibility. We can't - so this is, in some ways, our FA Cup".
