Peterborough United suffered late heartbreak after Jorden Gibson scored in the 6th minute of stoppage time for Carlisle.

Posh had chances from the beginning with a Ricky-Jade Jones’ cross left by Ephron Mason-Clark into the path of Jonson Clarke-Harris, but he skied his effort over the crossbar.

On 72 minutes, Posh got their noses in front and it was a first goal for the club for Ronnie Edwards as he met Joel Randall’s centre with a bullet of a header at the near post.

Fin Back was cautioned for a foul on Mason-Clark on 75 minutes by the touch-line.

The fourth official indicated a minimum of five minutes added time at the end of the 90.

Moxon went into the book for a foul on Collins three minutes into stoppage time.

Deep into that stoppage time, the home side found an unlikely leveller as a shot from distance from Gibson took a huge deflection and found the bottom corner.

Half-time: Carlisle United 0-0 Peterborough United

Full-time: Carlisle United 1-1 Peterborough United

Attendance: 6,014 (296 Posh fans)
