It was believed the teenager got into difficulty whilst swimming.

Friends and family have left flowers and letters at the lake in his memory.

It's really important people understand what those dangers

Now, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue are urging people to stay safe when they go swimming.

Paul Clarke, the water safety lead in Cambridgeshire, said:

"Within the last week we've seen water-related tragedies which are just tragic, so it's really important people understand what those dangers are and make sure they're always with other people and acclimatise themselves to the water."

It can impact your ability to swim and to float

"If you're swimming in a lake, you might come across a pocket of very cold water, and that can have an impact on your ability to swim and your ability to float."

"Likewise, with some of our riverways, there may be weeds or rubble or shopping trolleys or anything like that that you could get tangled up in that can impact your being able to swim."

"If you do find yourself getting into difficulty, one of the key phrases we use is float to live."

"Just float on your back and catch your breath, and if you're able to, then shout for help."
