A woman has been jailed after a stash of drugs she was selling across Peterborough was found behind an air conditioning unit.

Officers from Cambridgeshire Police confirmed that Adele Machin was one of several people approached by the force in a car park close to Oxford Road in the Millfield area of the town on January 18th.

The officers had been patrolling drug dealing hotspots and, when investigating the area, found the drugs behind the unit.

During the raid, police uncovered a total of 64 different wraps of crack cocaine, as well as 45 wraps of heroin.

A total of 109 different wraps of cocaine and heroin were found

It was later revealed that some of the 109 wraps that were found were handed over to police after being found stashed in Machin's bra.

Machin, with an address at Oundle Road in Woodston, appeared before Peterborough Crown Court on Friday (July 11th) and was jailed for 28 months.

She previously admitted possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, and being in possession of criminal property.

Speaking on the incident, Detective Constable Emily Richardson from Cambridgeshire Police praised the efforts of officers who found the stash.

"This was a great spot by neighbourhood officers who were in the area responding to community concerns about drug dealing around Occupation Park.

“We often get asked why we stop-search the lower level drug users instead of solely focusing on the dealers, but this helps us identify those involved in the supply of drugs in Peterborough. With this information and reports from the public, we are able to arrest those involved and put them before the courts.”
