Person hit by train near Cambridge North station

A person has been pronounced dead after being hit by a train near Cambridge North railway station.
Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were called to the scene at approximately 2:45 pm.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said, "The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Train services on the lines between Ely and Cambridge North are suspended, and operators implement emergency measures to address the disruption. Greater Anglia confirms that services from Norwich towards Cambridge are terminating at Ely, while services from Stansted Airport to Cambridge are terminating at Cambridge.
Rail replacement buses are arranged to operate between Ely and Cambridge North.
Great Northern announces that its services between Cambridge and Kings Lynn are also impacted, with train services amended or cancelled. The operator confirms the introduction of a shuttle train service between Kings Lynn and Ely and the deployment of rail replacement buses at Kings Lynn and Cambridge.
Passengers are advised to use their tickets on alternative services provided by Thameslink, Great Northern, and Greater Anglia at no additional cost.
