People are being used not to visit Peterborough City Hospital unless 'experiencing a medical emergency or need urgent treatment' due to business.

The North West Anglia Foundation Trust, which runs the Peterborough City, Hinchingbrooke and Stamford and Rutland Hospitals, issued the warning on their social media page Monday.

They are asking people to use 111 if unsure to go to the hospital, or use 'appropriate help'.

People are also being asking to pick up family members of friends from the hospital.
