An investigation has been launched after a crash on Cambridgeshire's Guided Busway seriously injured a teenager.
A 13-year-old boy has been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital.
The County Council's confirmed a pedestrian was involved in yesterday's collision, which also included a bus, at Orchard Park, around 4pm.
The condition of the pedestrian is not yet known, but Cambridgeshire County Council say “Our thoughts are with the pedestrian and their family. We’re working with the emergency services, and a full investigation has commenced."
A statement, released by the Council, goes on to say "“The busway, and the path which runs alongside it, is currently closed in both directions and buses will be diverted.”
A spokesperson for Stagecoach East said: "One of our vehicles was involved in an incident in which a pedestrian was injured at about 3.45pm on Tuesday 4th March in Histon. We understand the person involved was taken to hospital. Our first thoughts are for their welfare. Safety is our absolute priority. We will carry out a thorough investigation into the cause of this incident, working with the appropriate authorities."
Cambridgeshire Police say no other injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.
