One-year-old baby found crossing road alone with no shoes in Huntingdonshire
The child was found by a member of the public in the rain
A one-year-old baby has been found crossing the road in Huntingdonshire wearing no shoes, and without a parent nearby.
Police received a call from a 'very concerned' member of the public at just after 7pm on Tuesday.
The caller stayed with the child, who was wet and cold from the rain and wearing no shoes, as officers were dispatched.
Officers began knocking on doors making to locate the child’s parents and after a short while found the child’s home.
The child was safely returned, and police say they game some 'some strong words of advice' to the parents.
A child protection referral has also been completed, to will ensure appropriate agencies are aware of the incident.
Police have thanked the caller and are asking for anyone with concerns about a child to get in touch.
