Northamptonshire man dies in lorry crash near St Neots

A woman from St Neots, who was a passenger in the car, is in hospital with serious injuries

A man has died after a crash between a car and lorry near St Neots.

Cambridgeshire Police say the 22-year-old from the Rushden area of Northamptonshire, died at the scene on Tuesday night, after emergency services were called around 6:30pm.

A white Vauxhall Astra collided with a White Mercedes lorry, on the B645 betwee Hail Weston and Staughton Highway.

The Vauxhall driver died at the scene, with his passenger, a 22-year-old woman from St Neots, taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The lorry driver, a 63-year-old man from Lincolnshire, was uninjured.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and footage.

Sergeant Ben Chance said: “I would like to hear from anyone who saw or has dashcam footage of the crash, or the vehicles involved just before.”
