"No bacterial concerns" in Marleigh's water supply
Residents have been without safe tap water for 6 days
A water company says initial results show there's no bacterial concerns in Marleigh - as people prepare for a 6th day with unsafe tap water.
A 'do not use' notice by Independent Water Networks for more than three hundred homes there was downgraded to 'do not drink' yesterday.
In a statement released this afternoon, the company said: "The initial results back so far show no bacterial concerns. We are continuing to work with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) to determine what the contaminate could be before we’re able to advise you that your water is safe to use normally."
"Bottled water is available at Marleigh Community Centre, which will close at 10pm this evening. We will continue to monitor the levels of bottled water stock throughout the day and will be liaising with our emergency contractor, Water Direct, to deliver more if necessary.
"Thank you for your continued patience and support during this time."
