A new mural has been unveiled in the small village of Melbourn, South Cambridgeshire (a couple miles north of Royston) following news of the DJ's death earlier this week.

The piece (pictured above) was completed by mural artist 'Gnasher' (@gnashermurals on Instagram).

DJ Randall- the jungle and drum & bass pioneer was frequently known as "the godfather of breakbeat"- died on Wednesday at the age of 54.

The British DJ helped pioneer the British acid house movement of the late 80s into the breakbeat, jungle, and drum & bass sounds that could be heard throughout UK dancefloors in the 90s.

Goldie’s Metalheadz label whom the late DJ was affiliated with, said: “Everyone at Metalheadz is absolutely devastated to learn of the passing of one of our own.

A uniquely loveable character with a heart of gold, we will miss you very much Randall.”

Paul Woolford, otherwise known under his breakbeat-inspired alias Special Request, said: “Randall’s influence cannot be understated. It is colossal.

So many of us were absolute schooled by his methods. It runs so deep it’s ridiculous.”
