A 58-year-old man has been jailed for 10 months after pleading guilty to attempted sexual communications with a child in Cambridgeshire.
Stephen Bryant communicated sexually with someone he wrongly believed was a 13-year-old girl.
He began messaging an online child activist group on Facebook between 28th - 31st July 2019, posing as the girl.
In spite of the decoy telling him she was 13, Bryant continued to ask for photos and to meet up for sex.
He was arrested on 4th August 2019 and sentenced on Thursday (29/2) at Peterborough Crown Court.
Bryant, of Long Drove, Murrow, near Wisbech, denied a charge of attempting to incite a girl to engage in sexual activity but was later ordered to lie on file.
DC Lee Lombardo said: “We will do everything in our power to bring those who look to harm children to court so I am glad Bryant has faced justice.”
