Murder investigation underway in Cambridge
Police have arrested a 30-year-old man after a stabbing in the city this morning
Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 50s was fatally stabbed in the early hours of this morning (25 February) on Chesterton Road in Cambridge.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 1am, with the man being pronounced dead at 1.18am.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody at Parkside Police Station.
Detective Inspector Mark Butler from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit said: “I understand this is likely to be concerning to the local community, but we believe it to be an isolated incident and we have extra patrols in the area today."
He added: “We would like to appeal to anyone with information to come forward as a matter of urgency.”
