Murder investigation launched in Peterborough after body found in River Nene
His family are being supported by specialist officers.
A murder investigation is underway after the body of a man was found in the River Nene in Peterborough.
Officers were called to Pleasure Fair Meadow Road, near Town Bridge last Friday (23rd February) to reports that a man had been chased and entered the river.
30-year-old Conor Kinlan was discovered by specialist dive teams in the early hours of the following morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Richard Stott, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Detectives have been working hard since Friday to piece together how and why Conor ended up in the river, and we have multiple lines of enquiry which are being followed.
“Specialist officers are supporting his family, and there will be increased patrols in the area over the coming days.”
Police are urging anyone with further information about the incident to come forward.
