Michelin Star chef sentenced in Peterborough for sexual assault
Chef guilty of creating fake messages to avoid prison for attack
A Michelin Star chef has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a woman at The Chubby Castor restaurant in Castor, near Peterborough.
Shannon White, 31, attacked the victim, who is in her 20s, at the restaurant located on Peterborough Road on 18th October 2024.
White attempted to cover up his actions by using a fake Whatsapp generator to create messages that appeared to be sent by the victim.
On 26th January at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court, White was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 12 months, after being found guilty of sexual assault.
White, from Verde Close, Eye, near Peterborough, was also given a two-year restraining order against the victim.
DC Stacey Caley, who investigated, said: “White shamefully attacked the victim and then used a fake app in an attempt to cover up his tracks.
“Although the sentence was not custodial, I hope it reassures the victim that justice has been done.
"It also highlights how seriously we take all allegations of violence against women and girls.
"If you or someone you know has been a victim, we urge you to get in touch.”
