Man jailed after attacking woman in the street in Cambridge
When he was arrested officers discovered he was already on bail following a previous arrest for sharing an intimate video of the victim.
A man who assaulted a woman in the street while waiting to face justice for sharing a sexual video of her has been jailed.
Craig Dodson, 23, grabbed the victim by the throat at the junction of Gresham Road and Harvey Road, in Cambridge, at about 10pm on 16 January.
He also pushed her head into a wall and shouted he was going to kill her.
Officers arrested Dodson and discovered he was already on bail following a previous arrest for sharing an intimate video of the victim on Snapchat on 29 November.
On Friday (23 May), at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court acting as a crown court, Dodson, of Whitgift Road, Teversham, was jailed for 14 months and two weeks, having pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, sharing an intimate photo or film of a person in an intimate state intending to cause alarm, distress or humiliation and three counts of assault.
DC Valentin Radulescu, who investigated, said: “Dodson assaulted the woman in the street despite knowing he shouldn’t have been in contact with her at all.
“He shamefully also shared an intimate video which would have been humiliating for the victim. I’m delighted he’s faced justice so he can reflect on his actions.”
