Man suffers burns in Cambridge primary school fire
Emergency services were called just before 8:30am this morning to Fen Drayton CP on Cootes Lane
A man's suffered serious burns after a fire broke out at a primary school in Fen Drayton just after half eight this morning.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service say their crews were called at 8.37am today, to a fire on Cootes Lane in Fen Drayton.
Over 30 firefighters were involved in tackling a blaze affecting the roof of the building.
Although the road has since reopened, crews remain on-site to ensure the area is secure.
A male casualty was treated for burns by ambulance crews.
The East of England Ambulance Service confirmed, "One ambulance, three Hazardous Area Response Team vehicles, and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the fire at Fen Drayton CP School this morning.
"One man with serious burns was transported to Addenbrookes Hospital."
An investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
Fen Drayton CP School has been contacted for a comment.
Although the school is now closed for the summer, so no children are believed to have been in the building at the time of the fire.
