A man has been arrested after a women's body was discovered in a Cambridgeshire village.

Police made the discovery in Beech close in Little Shelford on Thursday, while responding to concerns about a woman's welfare.

Her death is currently being treated as unexplained, with a post-mortem examination due to take place on Monday.

Police were called at 8.13am on Thursday with reports of concern for welfare for a woman in Beech Close, Little Shelford.

Officers have attended the scene and the woman has been found deceased. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem is due to take place on Monday 25 November.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and has since been released on police bail.
