Cambridgeshire police have said that an arrest has been made following a suspected arson series.

A man has been arrested following a series of suspected arson attacks in St Ives and Huntingdon.

The first fire took place at a home in Hill Rise at about 6.15pm on Thursday (4 May).

There were people in the property at the time but they were not injured.

There were also two arson attacks on vehicles in Elm Close, Huntingdon, at about 10pm yesterday (5 May) and in Tennyson Avenue, St Ives, at just after midnight today.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the fires but the vehicles were destroyed.

The 20-year-old man from Huntingdon was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life today and is in custody at Parkside Police Station in Cambridge.

Police are treating the suspected arsons as targeted attacks and patrols have been increased in the areas affected.
