Man arrested after car and motorcyclist crash in St Ives

A man has been arrested after a two-vehicle crash in St Ives.

Cambridgeshire Police were called to the A1123 junction with Morrisons supermarket at around 3.30pm on 10 May to reports of a collision between a blue Yamaha motorcycle and a black Hyundai i30.

The driver of the black Hyundai did not stop at the scene.

A police spokesperson said: “Officers and paramedics attended and the man who was riding the motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

“A 27-year-old man from Swavesey was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

“He has been released on bail until 10 August.”
