Firefighters have rescued a horse in Throckenholt who became stuck in a river.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue say 'Magenta' was spooked while out on a ride, when she unseated her owner and ended up in the water.

Emergency services attended the incident at around midday on Monday on Common Bank.

Crews from Wisbech and Dogsthorpe helped rescue the hose, along with the North roaming fire engine.

Strops and lifting machinery were used under the supervision of a vet to rescue the horse and return Magenta to her owner.
