Four children injured in Peterborough crash

A driver has been arrested after a car left the road and collided with trees on Park Road

A woman has been seriously injured and a man arrested after a car left the road and crashed into trees in Peterborough.

The crash happened at around 7.10pm yesterday (Sunday, 16 March) on Park Road, near the junction with Princes Gate. A grey BMW i5 M60 xDrive left the road and collided with trees.

The driver, a 47-year-old man from Peterborough, suffered minor injuries. He has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol. He remains in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.

The front passenger, a 46-year-old woman from Peterborough, was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Four children in the back of the car, aged four, six, 15 and 16, suffered minor injuries.
