50 firefighters have been tackling a blaze in South Cambridgeshire this morning, that spread to fencing and a house.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue say they were called at 6:13am on Back Road in Abington, and attended with 10 fire engines and a water carrier.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used hose reels and jets to extinguish the fire.

Emergency services for firefighters worked hard to prevent the fire from spreading to the main part of the house, however the garage and extension have been severely damaged.

Crews attended from Cambourne, Cambridge, Huntingdon and Gamlingay along with Saffron Walden (Essex) and Newmarket and Haverhill (Suffolk).

An investigation will take place to identify the cause of the fire.
