Major A-road in Cambridgeshire closes following overturned tractor on fire

The A142 in Cambridgeshire has been reopened after emergency services were called to an overturned tractor that set on fire.

Black smoke could be seen billowing from the vehicle on the road in between Mepal and Chatteris.

Drivers using the route faced delays this morning (October 6th).

Fire crews from Chatteris, March, and Ely attended the scene at around 8:20am.

At 10:30am, a Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed the fire had been put out.

It was confirmed shortly after 11am that the road was fully reopened.

No injuries have been reported.
