Firefighters tackle 30-acre field fire in Wilburton

The service say the cause of the blaze was deliberate.

Firefighters have tackled a fire which stretched to cover as much as 30 acres of field in Cambridgeshire.

At 1.37pm on Monday (18 August), crews were called to the blaze on Pools Road in Wilburton, just southwest of Ely.

Crews from Ely, Cottenham, and Newmarket in Suffolk, along with a misting unit from Burwell attended the incident.

They extinguished the fire and returned to their stations by 4.45pm.

The cause of the fire was deliberate.
