Two men killed after car crashes into tree near Huntingdon

The single-vehicle collision on the A1198 left both the driver and passenger dead.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal crash near Huntingdon left two men dead.

The collision happened at around 10:25pm yesterday when a silver Volkswagen Golf left the A1198 near Hilton and crashed into trees.

The driver, a 27-year-old man, and the passenger, a 33-year-old man, both from Huntingdon, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are asking for anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may have witnessed the crash or the vehicle in the moments leading up to it.

Dashcam footage may provide vital evidence in the investigation, which has been named Operation Chigwell.
