Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a cyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Cambridge.

Officers were called to Fulbourn Road- outside the Peterhouse Technology Park- at around 6.20pm last night (24th November).

A black BMW had collided with a green e-bike.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene, and the vehicle was later found abandoned on Lime Kiln Road.

The e-bike rider- a 45-year-old woman from Fulbourn- was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital suffering from serious injuries.

A 32-year-old man, from Cambridge, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at a road traffic collision and perverting the course of justice.

Detective Sergeant Craig Wheeler, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the collision, or who may have seen the black BMW heading towards Lime Kiln Road, especially if you have any dashcam footage at the time.”

If you have information or dashcam footage, report it through the force website using reference Op Heartwood CC-24112024-0423.
