Man arrested on suspicion of drink driving after Littleport crash
Members of the public had to rescue him from the vehicle
A driver who was rescued after crashing into water in Littleport has been arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Police say two members of the public managed to release the man, in his 20s, from the car before emergency services arrived on Friday afternoon.
He has since been bailed.
In a statement on Facebook, Cambridgeshire Police said: "We were called to Westmoor Drove in Littleport on Friday afternoon after witnesses reported this vehicle go into the water."
"Two members of the public managed to release the driver before police arrival.
"The driver, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has been bailed to return to the police station in September."
