A cyclist in her 60s is fighting for her life after she was hit by a lorry in Wyton yesterday evening (28/2).

The woman was cycling on the A1123 (Huntingdon Road) at just after 7pm when she was involved in the collision with a white lorry, near to the junction of Splash Lane.

Ambulance crews attended and the woman, who is in her 60s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, where she remains today in a critical condition.

DI Garry Webb, from the BCH Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "We are trying to piece together what happened and would urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact us.

"That includes anyone who may have seen the woman on the same road or surrounding roads beforehand.”

The road was closed following the collision and the driver of the lorry, a man in his 40s, is helping police with their enquiries.
