Man killed in crash near Sawston named by police

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage

A man who was killed in a car crash near Sawston earlier this month has been named by police.

Gavin Shockledge, 54, was driving a silver Audi A3 northbound on the A1301 Sawston bypass when the car was involved in a collision with a lorry travelling in the opposite direction at about 10.55am on Thursday 18th January.

Officers and paramedics were called to the scene but Mr Shockledge, of The Westering, Barnwell, Cambridge, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver suffered minor injuries.

In a statement police said: "Anyone with information or footage relating to the collision should report it through the force website using reference CC-18012024-0147."

"Anyone without internet access should call 101."
