Man in critical condition after crash near St Ives

It happened yesterday morning and involved a car and a van

Two people have been seriously injured after a crash between a car and a van near St Ives.

At about 1.40am yesterday, a silver Toyota Corolla was involved in a collision with a red Vauxhall Astra and a white Renault Trafic van, in Houghton Road (A1123), between Houghton and St Ives.

Emergency services attended and the road was closed.

The driver of the Renault, a man in his 20s, was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital, in Huntingdon, with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

A man in his 50s who was driving the Toyota was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, where he remains in a critical condition.
