If you've ever wanted to name a waste and recycling vehicle in East Cambridgeshire - then now is your chance!

The District Council has launched a competition on its website - and the winning names will be added to front of its new fleet of 10 vehicles.

They run on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil as well as diesel, which is better for the environment.

Cllr Julia Huffer, chair of the council’s Operational Services Committee which oversees the waste and recycling service, said: “We want to give each of our new vehicles a name that is fitting of the task in hand."

“To get you started we think there should certainly be a Trash Gordon and a Dusty Bin in the mix.

“I am confident the residents of East Cambs will surprise us with their imagination, and hopefully we’ll get a whole ‘tip-load’ of entries.”

Anyone who would like to submit an entry for the competition is invited to do so on the council website.
