Five people have been seriously injured following a collision on the A1. The incident, involving a black Audi Q2 and a white Toyota Yaris, occurred at approximately 12:50 am on 15 July on the northbound carriageway near Sawtry.

Emergency services, including police and paramedics, attended the scene. A 36-year-old man and four children were taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A woman in her 40s from Peterborough, the driver of the Audi, tested positive for cannabis after a roadside drugs test. She has been released under investigation.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary is appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. Information can be provided via the police website, quoting incident 25 of 15 July, or by calling 101 to speak to a member of the Road Policing Unit.
