Cambridgeshire Police Officer dismissed
Former Detective Constable Danny Buckett had breached multiple Standards of Professional Behaviour
A former police officer has been dismissed following a misconduct hearing held at Lysander House in Tempsford.
The hearing found that former Detective Constable Danny Buckett had breached multiple Standards of Professional Behaviour.
In September 2023, Buckett was originally found guilty of gross misconduct and issued with a final written warning.
However, following a judicial review application by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), the case was returned to the panel for reconsideration.
At the reconvened hearing yesterday (29 October), the panel concluded that Buckett would have been dismissed from the force had he still been a serving officer.
He will now be placed on the College of Policing’s barred list, preventing him from future employment in policing.
Chief Constable Simon Megicks said: “We always demand the highest possible standards from all our officers and staff, both on and off duty.
Danny Buckett fell far short of that, and we welcome the fact that his behaviour was identified.
"We want to hear about any officers and staff who do not uphold the values we expect and encourage people to call it out by confidentially reporting behaviour into our Professional Standards Department.”
