Cambridgeshire woman assaulted victim several times after row

The incident happened in April last year in Peterborough.

A woman from South Cambridgeshire has been was sentenced to eight months in prison, suspended for 18 months after repeatedly punching and kicking another female multiple times in the street following an argument.

20 year old Megan Lyon, was drinking in Geneva Street, Peterborough, last April, when she became involved in a row the 42 year old victim.

On Wednesday at Cambridge Crown Court, Lyon, was sentenced.

PC James Brand, of Cambridgeshire Police, said: “This was a merciless assault that could have had far worse consequences for the victim and I hope this sentence serves as a wake-up call for Lyon. I would urge anyone to think twice before getting involved in this kind of violence as the consequences can be very serious for all concerned.”
