A bus has been on fire on the M11 southbound betweens junction 12 to 11 in Cambridge this morning.

Fire services say the cause of the blaze was accidental - and one person was treated for minor burn to hands.

A statement from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue services said:

"At 6.42am, we received reports of a bus on fire on the M11 southbound between junctions 12 to 11. Crews arrived to find a bus well alight on the slip road of Junction 11 and started to tackle the fire using two hose reels.

"The fire was out by 7.55am. The cause was accidental.

" One person was treated by crews for minor burns to hands. Junction 11 slip road remains closed. Four fire crews attended from Cambridge (2), Sawston and Royston."

No ambulance crews attended the incident.
