Cambridge United's head coach Neil Harris is leaving the club to join Millwall F.C.

The former boss is returning to the Championship club to replace sacked head coach Joe Edwards.

In a statement online, the club said it was "following an official approach this morning and contractual compensation being paid..."

It comes just days before Cambridge United face Peterborough in the Derby on Saturday.

Assistant Head Coach Barry Corr, supported by Kevin Betsy, will now take charge of the team.

Harris joined the U's in December, replacing Mark Bonner.

He previously spent four years as Millwall manager from 2015 until 2019, and is the club's all time top goal scorer.
