Plans to turn an old phone box in Cambridge into a coffee shop have been delayed because of concerns around safety pedestrian.

The proposal, put forward by Jake Armon, includes selling pre-ordered coffee made by a barista based in the phone box.

But the planning application has been withdrawn after concerns were raised by the highways authority.

There are concerns around the door of the phone box opening onto a public highway, which it said could be a "detriment to pedestrian safety".

Planning officers added: "There are concerns with the proposals, including adverse impacts on the character of the north side of St Andrews Street."

The applicant confirmed they would withdraw the application and look to discuss the plans with the city council to find the "best way forward".
