A man from Cambridge has been jailed for over 2 years after threatening to exploit explicit images online.

Sean Mokler, 30, used a hacking website to gain access to the accounts of multiple women.

The platforms included Onlyfans, Snapchat and iCloud accounts.

He contacted the women anonymously, threatening to share their images online if they did not comply with his requests of money or more images.

“Mokler caused real distress to his victims”, said Detective Sergeant James Firth.

“He left them feeling violated”

“The investigation into his crimes has been long and complex but I am glad we managed to bring him before the courts” .

Mokler was sentenced at Cambridge Crown court on 3rd November, after pleading guilty to 5 counts of blackmail.

Detective Sergeant Firth is advising people to “make sure any login details are as secure as possible” by “enabling two-factor authentication, never using the same password for more than one account and creating a strong password using three separate completely random words.”
