Live music events could be held next to Grafham Water

Live music sessions, outdoor cinema shows, car rallies and plays could be held at Grafham Water after Anglian Water has applied to Huntingdonshire District Council for a license.

The company wants to hold events on part of the wider site in an outdoor area off Buckden Road.

The council's licensing sub-committee is due to meet next week (Thursday, August 17th) to consider the application.

For events where there are more than 500 people, police will be alerted and "park rangers will patrol the site daily the ensure the public behaves" according to the company.

What has Anglian Water applied for?

  • Permission to be able to hold outdoor cinema events, showing films on a large screen or projector mainly during summer months, on either a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
  • Show plays during a similar period, or be be able to put on live and recovered music events between April and September.
  • Hold dance performances on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday,
  • A range of other family-friendly event to be held across weekdays, including family fun days, car and steam rallies.

Papers published ahead of the sub-committee meeting show one person has objected to the license,
