Blaze at restaurant in Ely tackled by firefighters
Two people from a neighbouring property were treated for smoke inhalation
A 'significant fire' at an Indian restaurant in Ely has been tackled by crew.
The fire started at around 6am this morning (Monday 14th) to Church Street, Fordham.
Firefighters responded from Cambridge, Cottenham, Burwell, Sawston, along with four appliances from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service (Mildenhall, Wickhambrook and Newmarket).
Firefighters worked in sectors to get the fire under control.
Two casualties from neighborough property were treated for smoke inhalation.
Residents are encouraged to avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed if you can smell smoke.
Church Street remains closed.
A fire investigation is due to take place in due course.
