A drug dealer caught with cocaine and fraudulent identification has been jailed.

Eugen Dega, 19, was spotted by police driving a grey Toyota in Cherry Hinton Road, Cambridge, at about 5.30pm on 15 February.

The car was found to have no insurance and they also discovered £755 in cash on the passenger seat.

Dega was searched and 19 bags of cocaine were found in one of his coat pockets.

A further search at the police station uncovered £100 in his wallet as well as an identification card and driving licence, both in a different name.

On Monday 14 April, at Peterborough Crown Court, Dega, of no fixed address, was jailed for 20 months, having pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possess/control identity documents with intent, acquire/use/possess criminal property, having no insurance and having no licence.

DC Antonio Fernandez said: “We want to make Cambridge as difficult a place as possible to deal drugs, so I’m glad the courts have handed down this sentence.

“Drugs ruin the lives of all of those who come into contact with them and blight communities with associated crime.”
